The SNJ was the Navy version of the North American T-6 basic trainer, which was used by thousands of fledgling pilots as their last trainer before operational duty in World War II. First deliveries were ordered in 1936, with the different variants remaining in service in large numbers well into the 1950's. Remarks: This aircraft was moved to the Midway on 25 May 2004 and has become one of the most popular exhibits on the ship.
